November’s Giving Thanks & Giving Back project is decorating boxes for Agape Flights. Thanksgiving dinners will be delivered in these student decorated boxes by AGAPE to their missionaries in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. They will bring 100 boxes for the students to decorate on October 3. If any students would also like to write notes to include with the boxes, the missionaries love receiving those as well. All boxes must be completed and ready for pick up no later than Tuesday, October 21.
Welcome to Venice Christian School. The school and its faculty are committed to a Biblically sound education that stresses character and academic excellence. In Christ are hid all the treasures of Wisdom and knowledge. (Colosians 2:3).
More than 25 years ago, a group of local parents and teachers met to discuss their vision for a Christian school in the Venice area. They strongly believed that integration of faith and learning was essential for excellence in education. In the fall of 1987, Venice Christian School (VCS) opened its doors to area students, making their dream a reality.
Today, VCS is fully accredited and recognized as one of the most outstanding private schools in the area, according to the Florida Council of Private Schools. More than 250 students from Sarasota to Port Charlotte attend VCS, from preschool to 12th grade. We have remained an independent, not-for-profit school, with students representing more than 35 area churches.
In our 25 year history, VCS has earned numerous awards and accolades. However, the true measure of our success is how the school is dramatically changing the lives of students and, in turn, impacting our world for Christ. Ultimately, that is what sets the standard for all that we do.
Each of our teachers are handpicked and I know that they have been called by God into this ministry, they are fully certified through the Association of Christian Schools International. We are blessed to have them here at the school. Our school is truly training champions for Jesus Christ. Please call for a tour of the school at 941-496-4411.
Jerry Frimmel, Principal
VCS provides a well-rounded curriculum designed to develop the whole child intellectually, spiritually, socially, and physically. The program is challenging yet flexible, in order to meet individual needs. In addition to core subjects and honors classes, students receive instruction in foreign language, technology, art, music, drama and physical education. VCS also offers students interscholastic athletics opportunities in basketball, soccer, volleyball, golf, tennis and cross-country.
All VCS teachers are certified by the state of Florida and/or ACSI and, more importantly, have the spiritual maturity and passion needed to recognize and nurture each student’s unique differences, talents, gifts, and needs. Their commitment to excellence helped VCS receive $150,000 grant money in past years from the Gulf Coast Community Foundation of Venice, for professional development in the areas of reading and math.
