Art Class

VCS Art ClassI am so blessed to have this opportunity to teach at such a wonderful school.

Having our children’s spiritual development addressed along with their academics gives them a much-needed, solid foundation as they head out into today’s world. I am proud to be a small part of this process!

I will be assisting your children to develop their creative, observational and technical skills. We will learn a bit of art history, some terms and techniques and hopefully, have some fun doing it!

Whether or not they are headed toward any of hundreds of art careers or not, it is my hope that the exercises and work we do in our class will be, not only fun, but will help them develop to their highest, most creative potential, for what ever life-path the Lord has in store for them.

Your children understand that their grade will depend on three things:

  • Classroom effort
  • Test scores
  • Improvement over the year

I am happy to report that as a whole, each class has shown a real interest and sometimes surprisingly sophisticated skill-sets for youngsters their age (thank you Mr. Scott and Mrs. Frisch!). They have great enthusiasm and attention which we will do our best to develop over the year. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions. I look forward to meeting you all over the course of the semester.

Best Wishes, Martin Surak
