Venice Christian School is proud to offer an extensive extracurricular athletic program for it's middle and high school students. The mission of the Venice Christian School Athletic Program is to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ in and through our abilities and attitudes, that we might show forth the fruit of the spirit in the midst of the competitive nature of sport.
We participate in the Florida Christian Conference (FCC) for high school athletics. The FCC is a state wide conference for Christian high schools that provides the opportunity for teams to compete for State Championships in volleyball, soccer, basketball, softball, baseball and golf.
The Florida Gulf Coast League (FGCL) is where our middle school athletic teams compete. The FGCL serves the parochial schools in the Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte County area. The league had grown so large that we have divided into two divisions. There are over 20 member schools between the two divisions. League Championships are held at the end of each season.
1 Corinthians 9:24-27 "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize."
