Venice Christian School (VCS), located in Venice, Florida, attracts students from Venice, Sarasota, North Port, Englewood, Nokomis, Osprey, and Laurel. VCS is an independent, Christian school with students representing some 40 different area churches.

VCS provides for the development of spiritual, mental, social and physical skills in a Christian context and atmosphere.

Each student is expected to maintain a high level of academic and behavioral performance which is accomplished through strong individual encouragement and support. Special honor recognition encourages academic and spiritual growth.

It takes more than traditional academics to meet the needs of today's youth. Young people need instructors who care and who guide them in paths that will lead to success.

They need a learning environment that is free of gang and drug activities. They need answers to their questions and guidance in their struggles based on the unchanging authority of God's Word.

The mission of Venice Christian School is to partner with families, the local churches and the community to educate children in accordance with the truth of scriptures and to pursue excellence in academic instruction with a Biblical worldview.

VCS Academic Program

The curriculum is the heart of the academic program in any educational institution. It provides both the breadth and depth of scope required for a well-rounded education. For this reason, we have chosen to use a variety of publishers. ACSI, A-Beka and Bob Jones materials are predominant, with teacher-generated supplements providing an additional resource. The educational experience of each child is further enhanced by courses in computer, art, music, drama, library and physical education.

The Stanford Achievement Test, administered every spring to each student in first through eighth grades, provides a helpful tool for evaluating VCS's academic program through its by-class comparisons with other public and private schools.

Venice Christian School is fully accredited for Kindergarten through 12th grade with the Florida Council of Private Schools (FCPS) and a participating member of the American Association of Christian Schools (AACS). Classroom teachers are college graduates with State or ACSI Association of Christian Schools International certification.
