Welcome to Venice Christian School’s Music Program.

I am excited to let you know that I will be teaching music this year at Venice Christian School.  I consider it a privilege to work in an environment that embodies a strong ethic in training for eternity.  And certainly training in music will have pay offs in eternity!

I was blessed to grow up in a Christian environment.  My parents were co-founders and administrators of French Creek Valley Christian School (Saegertown, PA).  From kindergarten through 8th grade I was taught how to think critically and serve responsibly.  And each year I was taught music by our very own Mrs. Thayer - my mom!  Today she is still a music teacher.  She and my dad continue to demonstrate to me that life is about learning, and to learn is to know more of God.

Having earned a B.A. in Bible with a Music Emphasis from Moody Bible Institute (2003), I have since worked mostly as a Minister and/or Worship Music Director.  I have taught in the classroom, but also on missions trips, at youth camps, from the pulpit, and for other small group settings.  My experience leading corporate worship using traditional and contemporary music has shaped my passion for the practical application of music.

I believe music strengthens one's mind for learning other subjects and that music is powerful and effective for leading us to the author of all subjects -- God.
