The mission of the Venice Christian School Athletic Program is to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ in and through our abilities and attitudes, that we might show forth the fruit of the spirit in the midst of the competitive nature of sport.
VCS High School students are eligible to participate in athletics at their local districted schools. Please contact your districted school’s Athletic Director as soon as possible for appropriate registration information and athletic forms.
Venice Christian School is proud to offer an extensive extracurricular athletic program for middle school students. The Florida Gulf Coast League (FGCL) is where our middle school athletic teams compete. The FGCL serves the parochial schools in the Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte County area. There are 12 member schools, and League Championships are held at the end of each season for the top ranked teams.
1 Corinthians 9:24-27 “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.”
In order to participate in athletics students must complete the Participation Authorization Packet before they may come to tryouts. Forms may be printed from the link below.
All teams practice after school at various local locations. Practices are typically from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and occur 3-5 times per week. The VCS bus is used to transport students to practices and home games. The bus and parents will transport athletes to and from away games.
