ABOUT US
OUR HISTORY
VCS first opened its doors in the fall of 1987, making the dream of many local parents and educators a reality here in Venice: having a Christian school for their children to attend, and to be able to use that ministry to reach out and serve the community.

In April of 1987 VCS moved into the campus of Calvary Baptist
Church on their property on East Venice Avenue. The school was established without association to any particular church to be able to be open to as many students and communities as possible.

The school opened up in the fall with 93 students, representing approximately 30 churches from around the area, and served children grades k-5th grade. As the school grew, they eventually built 3 additional classroom buildings on the property before moving to the present campus on Center Road in 1998.

As the school continued to grow and be blessed, the school was able to build out a soccer field in 2008, as well as the gymnasium in 2012, which provided a full-sized basketball court, volleyball court, and several new classrooms.

Today, Venice Christian School servers over 350 students, representing 45 churches, ranging from Sarasota, FL to Port Charlotte, FL, and look forward to God's continual blessing on this ministry.
